A Family Day Out At Wolds Way Lavender – It’s many, many years since I have been to Wolds Way Lavender, and was before the children came along. As you might imagine, it’s changed a great deal and is so child friendly I am cross we hadn’t been in the meantime! There are, as you might imagine, fields of lavender (over 100 varieties) that are beautiful and ideal Instagram fodder on a sunny day. The scent in the area is incredible too!
The children were given a ‘treasure hunt’ sheet of paper with clues and questions to help them find things. They always love that sort of thing.
What they really loved was all the family friendly activities. There was a wooden obstacle course and playground with a train in the middle for younger ones.
There was also a cute land train that you could ride at a small extra charge. I didn’t get a photo of it moving through the lavender fields which is a shame, but I did get this one of it in the train shed.
The Maze at Wolds Way Lavender
Wolds Way Lavender also have a maze absolutely filled with lawn games, so there should always be space for everyone. You can move around the maze playing the different games. We saw chess:
and we played draughts:
and Nine Men’s Morris, which I have never played before but was rather fun. I think it would be a game that improves with playing too as they learn the strategies.
Miss M came across this limbo pole, but set it quite high, do we think? There are pegs at the back to lower it!
There’s plenty more to see at Wolds Way Lavender like ponds and this cute bug hotel.
There is also a gift shop where you can buy some lovely things as well as lavender plants.
And of course a cafe! We stopped for a spot of lunch and tried this lovely ham salad platter – the ham was lavender crusted ham and the scone was warm!
The kids went for sandwiches and cheese scones.
We didn’t have the best weather when we visited Wolds Way Lavender, but the kids didn’t care and loved roaming about exploring all the nooks and crannies. It’s a lovely place to visit with something for everyone.
Wolds Way Lavender invited us to visit and review. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
