Gorgeous Freestanding Wooden Hammock from VonHaus

Gorgeous Freestanding Wooden Hammock from VonHaus – The last couple of weeks have seen some beautiful weather in my little part of Yorkshire. The daffodils are fading and the cherry blossom is coming to the fore. At this time of year I like to tidy up the garden after its long winter nap and start looking forward to the summer. This means pressure washing the patio, re-staining the deck and getting the garden furniture out. We have a lovely garden sofa that seems to have become home to something undesirable over the winter (we live next to farm buildings, think something bigger than mice…!), so I was thrilled to be invited to review this beautiful freestanding hammock from VonHaus.

Mr W is always talking about wanting a hammock to laze in the garden in the summer, and it’s his birthday in a couple of weeks so this was perfect! It is a beautiful hammock and a real centrepiece in the garden (it’s huge!).

It has this gorgeous (and really strong) wooden base, curved like a smile or a silhouette of a ship.

It comes in pieces that you need to assemble yourself, but it was pretty straightforward to do. I think we will dismantle it again for the winter to keep it looking as nice as it does, or maybe buy a cover for it (as we are a bit lazy!).

The fabric part of the hammock can be removed when it isn’t in use to keep it clean. Replacement fabric parts are not too expensive either for when the kids spill blackcurrant juice on it. (It can’t be washed in a washing machine because of the strings through the wood). You could soak it all in washing powder though. Or just keep it clean, whatever works for you!!

Miss H wasn’t in the mood to model for us today but spent a lot of time on it as you can see under her blanket.  It’s hard to tell the scale from photos, she looks tiny on it but is actually around five foot tall now.

It really is a magnificent piece of outdoor furniture and a lovely, comfortable place to spend a summer’s afternoon!

We were sent this hammock to review, but as always all opinions expressed are my own.
