Hoover Cordless HF4 Hydro with Anti-Hair Wrap – Review

We recently received the Hoover HF4 Hydro to review.  It’s a cordless stick vacuum that comes with an anti-wrap cylinder and has a removable mop facility.

There are lots of good things about this vacuum from inconsequential things (which I will go into) to bigger deals.  Let me cover the bigger deals first.  Firstly, it has great suction and comes with all the usual interchangeable toys, like the regular vacuum head, the small brush and the crevice tool.

What sets this vacuum apart though is its mop function.  The mop is another interchangeable head on the vacuum comprised of two spinning microfibre discs and a triangular disc to get into corners.  You also get a second set of discs for when you are washing the first.  Oh, and a bottle of floor wash.

This is a game changer and does an excellent job of mopping the floor effortlessly.  We have a standalone electric floor mop which I have always loved, but will be heading its way to Facebook Marketplace as this is very much a two in one product and will take up so much less space!  The water reservoir sits on top of the mop head, and is easily removed for filling with water.

It’s very flexible, gets into the corners and does a genuinely cracking job.  What else do I like about it?  The parts are very sturdy for a start and the main vacuum head is easy to take apart and put back together when you inevitably vacuum up something you shouldn’t (I am looking at you Lego).

It is cordless which makes it so easy to grab and go.  It comes with a wall mount, so can be hung on the wall or in a cupboard.   You do need to remember to charge its battery.  Some models come with two batteries, although to be honest I find one enough if I charge it after every other use.

There are two filters with the main part of the vacuum, that can be cleaned.

Also, the vacuum has three different strength settings.  I prefer to always vacuum at the top strength as although this uses more battery time I feel like it is a more efficient use of my time.  In the photo below you will see a green bar (it is solid in real -life, it’s the camera that has made it look not).  The green bar shows how much battery there is left, while the windmill type icon shows suction strength.

All in all, it’s a powerful and convenient vacuum, lightweight to use and with the massive bonus of a mop to boot!

We were sent the Hoover HF4 Hydro to review, but as always, all opinions expressed are my own.
