Flying to Greece with easyJet – Review

Flying to Greece with easyJet - Review

We have used easyJet to fly to Greece for many years now and can genuinely say they have always been very good. The planes are very clean, very modern and as comfortable as other seats are in short-haul economy class!  Another very positive point about easyJet is that the staff are always down-to-earth, friendly and helpful.

The above photo was of our plane on the ground in Greece, the below photo was of our plane in a very rainy Manchester!

Let me tell you a little about the seats. Firstly they don’t recline, which I know is a divisive topic anyway, so will make some of you happy and some of you not so happy. The good thing is that as the flight from Manchester to Kalamata in Greece is less than 4 hours, you don’t really need to recline though I did take a bit of a nap with my head on my tray table!

The armrests between each of the seats do lift up which is great if you are travelling with small children because you can steal some of their seat width! The armrest next to the aisle does not lift up. I’m not sure why this is as it would be easier to get out of your seat if it did, but there is probably a reason why it doesn’t.

There is no entertainment system on the short-haul flights of course. So this is what the back of the seat in front of you will look like.

There is a tray table that folds down and will slide forward if you need it closer to you.  Most of them (not all – mine didn’t but the kids’ trays did) have a ridge to prop your phone or tablet up on. (Yes, those are our cats!)

There is also a pocket with all the safety information as well as shopping, magazines and menus for onboard food. You can also see the menus for onboard food on the easyJet app which I always like to have a look at before we travel.  I have included lots more menu photos at the end of this review so you can see what is on offer and how much they charge.  For reference I paid 5 Euro for a warm 500ml bottle of Diet Coke in Kalamata airport – so it’s very much worth waiting until you board your easyJet flight!

You used to be able to order food online before you travelled which would get your meal served first. This seems to have been stopped since covid but I’m hoping will return as it was really handy before.  We tried a couple of the offerings and both were pretty good (even if the chicken does not look it!).  I had the Chicken Teriyaki:

Like so many airlines, the base price is just the flight itself.  You then need to factor in whether you pay to book your seat selection and whether you take any checked in luggage (prices vary but you can choose weights from 15kg to 32kg).

Flights are cashless and contactless is preferred.  Any purchases over £45 need a chip and pin card.

Finally – here are the photos of the menus as promised.
