For our recent trip to Greece, we used HolidayExtras to book a hotel and parking package, which made our trip so much simpler! For this review I am going to talk about the hotel we stayed in which was the Crowne Plaza at Manchester Airport.
The package included overnight parking at the hotel followed by parking with Jet Parks 3 for the rest of our trip. You can read my review of Jet Parks 3 here.
The first thing I will mention and obviously the most important thing for an airport hotel is that it was very close to the airport itself! We flew from Terminal 1 and it was just a 5-minute walk from the hotel to the terminal. It isn’t as close to the other terminals, but if you wanted you could pay £3.95 per person for the hotel shuttle.
The hotel has recently undergone an £8 million refurbishment. Our room was clean and modern with all the amenities you might expect.
There was a good hospitality tray with tea, coffee and Biscoff biscuits!
As well as complimentary Harrogate spring water.
There was a large flat screen TV:
As well as a mini fridge, room safe, iron and ironing board etc.
The bathroom included a bath and plenty of toiletries.
I was very impressed to see that most of the plug sockets included USB points making a total of six USB points available in our room.
The reception was large and airy and felt very plush.
There were complimentary newspapers and complimentary iced water available.
The hotel has two separate restaurants as well as a large bar that served bar snacks.
I took photos of the bar snack menu. If you scroll to the bottom of the review you can see all of these.
There is also a pan Asian/Thai restaurant called Sampan’s which I loved the sound of but Mr. W wanted to try the grill so we tried the grill!
I must say that the grill restaurant was very pleasant with lots of large booths which I always like. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. You might also want to know that the grill restaurant was cashless and I imagine Sampan’s restaurant will be the same. We were encouraged to book a table at the restaurant ahead of time, although on the evening we visited it wasn’t too busy.
There is a nice little room just off reception with flight information on the wall.
The hotel has a gym. I did call in and took this photo whilst trying to not get anyone who was exercising in the photo!
All in all, a very pleasant stay with a nice restaurant, a modern room and an excellent proximity to the airport.
