Volcano Falls Adventure Golf at Xscape in Castleford – Have you been to Xscape at Castleford lately? There is loads to do for the kids! We recently visited and went sledging at Snozone as well as enjoying Volcano Falls Adventure Golf. You will have to forgive a little blurring on the pictures as it was dark and the kids/hubby will not stay still!
There are two courses of 18 holes and you pay per course. We chose the dinosaur course. It’s got great theming and reminded me of the Rainforest Cafe, if you’ve ever been there. The scenery, sounds and lighting all reflect the dinosaur jungle theme.

It’s not the same noises all the time either. Sometimes you can hear animal noises and at one point the lighting grew darker and a storm rolled in. You could hear the rain, then thunder and then flashes of lightning! It felt very realistic.
The course itself isn’t too tricky and is fine for younger ones too. Each hole is a different shape and the ground is landscaped to make the ball roll in unexpected directions. As it’s quite dark you can’t always see where the bumps are ahead of time so there is an element of surprise!
I loved this fabulous animatronic dinosaur. It moved and roared in a very realistic manner! It’s a great way to spend a rainy afternoon doing something a little different!
