Thor’s Tipi in Leeds Review – A Christmas Treat!

Thor’s Tipi Leeds Review – This week we visited Thor’s Tipi in Leeds. It’s at Victoria Gardens and just a few steps from the Christkindlemarkt, Leeds German Christmas Market.  We’ve put a short video together of Thor’s and the Christkindlemarkt so you can get an idea of what to expect.

Behind Thor’s you can see Leeds’ Wheel of Light.  It was a bright blue sky day when we visited as you can see, but I can imagine how atmospheric it must be all lit up at night!

Thor's Tipi Leeds Review

We visited Thor’s Tipi in York last year and love it as a fab festive destination, so when I realised there was one in Leeds too, it was a perfect excuse for a girls’ Christmas day out!

If you have not visited yet, it’s a cosy Viking inspired tipi with a fire pit in the middle that you can sit around.  If that is taken, there’s more seating to the side, complete with blankets if you feel the cold.  There are heaters too as well as the fire pit, so you shouldn’t!

The drinks menu is terribly tempting with delicious concoctions such as this Passion-fruit Martini that I tried (very potent, don’t do it on an empty stomach like I foolishly did, especially if you need to stay sober to take photos!).  It was divine though! There is even half a passion-fruit in there (be aware that when you get to the bottom of the glass, this can fall out and hit you on the nose, but again, did I mention how potent this drink was?!)

We also sampled the pink gin and lemonade that came looking fabulous with fresh redcurrants.

After our first round of drinks we visited the outdoor grill that serves some great comfort food like burgers, cheesy chips, and my favourite, Thor’s fries, covered with all manner of pickles and loveliness that I can’t remember or pronounce!

Lunch was washed down by this ‘pudding’ of a drink, Bailey’s Hot Chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows.

Drinks don’t get more festive than that. If you are lucky you can toast your hands on the fire at the same time. A veritable Valhalla for thirsty Vikings! Go shopping, do the Christmas markets and then relax in Thor’s – a perfect grown up Christmas day out!

We were invited to visit and try the grill.  As always all opinions expressed are my own.
