Last month our eldest teen turned 18. As well as lots of other fun stuff, he wanted to get together with his friends and do something different. Agility has long been on my list of places to visit so I thought this was a perfect opportunity to do so.

Agility do children’s parties as well as teen parties, but it’s one of the few places that’s cool enough for a teen party.
I’ll tell you a bit about Agility itself first before I go on to talk about the Ninja Warrior party aspect. I would describe the course as challenging soft play for grown-ups (though kids can go too)! There were lots of obstacles to climb as well as areas that took more skill to navigate.

There was also a steep slide that I very bravely (if I do say so myself!) went down twice. It’s a good idea to wear long trousers and a long sleeve top for this to prevent friction burns!

On the subject of clothing you will need grippy socks which you can buy at Agility but they do come bundled in with the price of the teen party.

We had a brilliant host who gave us a safety talk to begin with. He also gave ideas for how to tackle the course – you could just do your own thing or do time trials round the course. There was even a leaderboard with times of previous trials. He also suggested other ideas such as hide and seek which even though the boys were 17 and 18 I did see them doing at one point!

There is also a children’s course at Agility and so they cater for children’s birthday parties from toddlers to teens.

It would also be a perfect place for a stag or hen do, or corporate parties.

Upstairs there is a comfortable lounge with regular tables and sofas. There is a bar that serves soft drinks as well as alcoholic drinks and a menu with items such as pizza and chips.

As part of the teen party we had a special area set up for us. The table all laid out with fun items, large jugs of squash and each person had their own mocktail.

When the boys had finished on the course, they came back up to this area and were served a large pizza between two, large bowls of chips and cucumber and carrot sticks (which somewhat surprisingly went down well!)

After they had finished their food we went downstairs and were given ice cream in cups and the choice of syrups and toppings, which was a nice way to finish the party.

The staff were all very friendly and the boys commented on how nice they were.

It’s a great place to do something a bit different to the norm and everyone had a good time.
