Arcade Club is a huge (and I mean huge!) video games arcade on the outskirts of Leeds. Their website states that it is ‘Europe’s Largest Arcade – Part 2’. They also have branches in Blackpool and Bury.

You pay to enter but once inside all the games are free. The arcade is set over three levels (and within a veritable rabbit warren of rooms) with all manner of gaming machines.

Now, I am no expert on game genres, so hopefully what I am about to say is correct! I found that the most modern games were on the ground floor. There were lots of racing games, the type that you ride in a car or on a motorbike. I like these because you can play against somebody else and I love the competitive nature of these.

Then, there were lots of shoot ’em ups. I am quite partial to shooting a zombie myself occasionally, though to be honest, I’m really not very good at it!

Arcade Club, Leeds – Review
My eldest teen and I also had a look around the retro games, where he thrashed me at Tetris. I felt this was harsh because I used to be really good at it but clearly I’m not anymore!

They were also lots of pinball machines which are also a favourite of mine.

On the very top floor, there were some modern looking Japanese (?) gaming machines as well as lots of PCs for PC gaming and three VR stations.

The Cafe in Arcade Club, Leeds
Another thing worth noting is that the cafe in the arcade is excellent and extremely well priced. I’ve taken pictures of the menus so you can see this for yourself.

We all ordered pizza which was hand stretched and genuinely very very tasty and a complete bargain at £5.95.

I can imagine the arcade would be an excellent place for a children’s or teens birthday party. Oh and on a final note, we visited on a Saturday and the car park was quite full. There is a large retail park opposite with lots of parking though, plus as an added benefit you can pick up tea at Morrison’s before you head home.
