Hop along to Mother Shipton’s during the Easter Holidays for a hoppingly fun time. Follow the trail and on your way, help Little Bo Peep find her sheep! You can also meet bunnies Betty and Clover and solve puzzles and clues for a chocolatey treat.
The park will be transformed with props and actors, creating an engaging and interactive Easter event suitable for all the family. Every day from Monday 1st April to Sunday 28th April, open 10am to 5.30pm (last admission 4.30pm).
You will also see the famous Petrifying Well and Mother Shipton’s Cave. The park has several scenic picnic areas alongside the popular River Nidd, an adventure playground and gift shop and museum.

Lightwater Valley Theme Park in Ripon, North Yorkshire will be open for the Easter Holidays from Saturday 6th – Sunday 28th April. With over 35 rides and attractions, suitable for all ages, Lightwater Valley offers fantastic adventures for all the family. Visitors will be dazzled by the brand new ‘Outer Space’ themed Magic Lights Puppet Show in the Show Barn, with two shows a day throughout the holidays.
Meet Jester and Jasmine, the parks lovable dino mascots as they meet and greet families from 3pm and join in as they entertain the crowds with their choreographed dance shows including their favourite hit song, Baby Shark. Landlubbers will want to have a go at the pirate themed treasure trail egg hunt around Skeleton Cove over the Easter weekend – Friday 19th – Monday 22nd April. Follow the clues on your trail map which will lead budding buccaneers to the hidden chocolate treasure, but look out for the pesky Lightwater Pirates as they try their best to guard their loot.
Ride The Ultimate rollercoaster, Lightwater Valley’s signature ride that provides a thrilling 1.5 mile cocktail of speed, cornering and airtime. Take to the skies in the grip of the Eagle’s Claw, venture into the underground world of Raptor Attack, see the Park from a whole different viewpoint aboard Black Pearl and then hop on Apollo and take a spinning ride above the tree tops. Enjoy wet ‘n’ wild fun on the Wild River Rapids, and swashbuckling adventures aboard speedy Skull Rock and the tummy-tickling Flying Cutlass. Plus jump around on the huge Jumpin’ Jack’s bouncy pillow.
There is something for little ones too including the Lightwater Express train ride around the park, Eagle’s Creek Farm tractor ride with animals as well as Jester’s Jungle Fun indoor play area.

Flamingo Land Theme Park, Malton
The theme park will be fully open again ready for Easter – although I can’t find any info yet on the site!

Travel behind one of our five steam locomotives in beautiful hand-painted carriages for three and-a-half miles from Clayton West Station to our Shelley Station terminus.
Take in the glorious views as you steam through the South Pennine Foothills, passing through Cuckoo’s Nest, the ancient Blacker Woods, Skelmanthorpe and the Shelley Woodhouse Tunnel (the longest tunnel on any 15-inch narrow gauge line in Britain!).
WILLIAM’S DEN, NORTH CAVE, EAST YORKSHIRE
William’s Den includes a 475sqm play barn and extensive outdoor play – including a 50metre zip wire, den making area and ‘mountains and molehills’ space for kids to run, jump and roll around freely.

This is a lovely visit to do if you are in York for the day. Learn all about the history of chocolate in York and make your own chocolate bars. Lots of chocolate tasting throughout the tour to keep the kids amused.

Easter Adventure Zones – Look out for our large playgrounds within the Enchanted Forest, outdoor Roller Rink, Maze, Go Karts and Buccaneer Boats and so much more, plus some Eggstra Special Easter Events!
I’m including this one as it’s somewhere I have always wanted to visit but never quite managed. Lots of Herriot related memorabilia, as well as the restored 1940’s house, and a ‘farrier’s workshop’. I am secretly hoping Miss H will become a vet one day!
Looking for something a bit different? DIG is a hands-on archaeological adventure giving kids the chance to become trainee ‘diggers’ and discover the most exciting artefacts from 2000 years of York’s history!
