Lightwater Valley, Ripon

Lightwater Valley theme park will be fully open again on the 28th of March, 2018.

The theme parks will be fully open again on the 24th March 2018.  Flamingo Land have an Easter Event over Easter weekend this year.

Kirklees Light Railway, Clayton West, Huddersfield

25th March – 15th April 2018

The railway will be open daily for Easter family fun, with the egg-stra special Easter Eggspress running from Friday 30 March to Monday 2 April 2018! Easter Eggspress ticket prices include a hunt with the Easter Bunny, chocolate treats, Artifaces face painting, arts & crafts plus more! WILLIAM’S DEN, NORTH CAVE, EAST YORKSHIRE

Hop on down to William’s Den to enjoy a fun-filled range of happenings during the Easter holidays.  The Team at William’s Den are preparing a schedule of activities from Monday 26th March – Tuesday 3rd April when there will be Egg Painting, Bunny Bowling, Eggheads, a Chocolate Workshop and a traditional Egg Hunt!  We have a programme of merriment and giggles to keep families entertained throughout the holidays and our Kitchen Team have a range of Easter favourites for you to enjoy in The Kitchen Table during your visit.  In addition to Easter activities William’s Den are hosting RUSTICUS for interactive and engaging adventure for families to play together.

This is a lovely visit to do if you are in York for the day. Learn all about the history of chocolate in York and make your own chocolate bars. Lots of chocolate tasting throughout the tour to keep the kids amused.

Eureka, the National Children’s Museum usually run Easter themed events.

 

National Railway Museum, York

From steam rides to storytelling, we’ve got lots of hands-on fun for the whole family.

Beningbrough Hall, York

30th March – 2nd April 2018

Easter Weekend with Cadbury.  Hop to it and follow the trail for your very own Cadbury chocolate bunny prize, plus egg and spoon races, decorate an egg competition and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

The event is free with normal admission.

Sledmere House, Sledmere, East Yorkshire

30th March – 2nd April 2018

Come along and help us celebrate the opening of our new ‘Spotted Pig Play Park’ in Hampton Paddock with lots of Easter fun activities.
There will be a special ‘Easter Bunny Trail’ and the first ever ‘Great Sledmere Easter Egg and Spoon Obstacle Challenge’.  In the grounds of Sledmere House you could also enjoy the family bike ride egg hunt.

Burton Agnes Hall, Burton Agnes

Easter Egg Trail
 
30th March – 8th April, 11am-5pm
 
Children are invited to take part in an Easter trail around the magnificent grounds of the Hall, solving clues while exploring the extensive gardens. Once the conundrum has been solved, every child will receive an Easter treat.
 
There are puzzles to solve and games to play, while in the craft tent children can get creative with colouring. Excitingly, there is a giant golden egg to find, which the Easter Bunny has been hidden somewhere in the grounds!
 
Easter Egg Hunt
 
Sunday 1st April and Monday 2nd April, 11am to 5pm
 
On Easter Sunday and Monday, children are invited to join the Easter Bunny and search for some of the many thousands of chocolate Easter eggs that are hidden in the Hall’s woodland.
 
The stunning gardens and grounds also offer a magnificent yew tree maze (perfect for letting off steam), giant board games including chess, draughts, quoits, snakes and ladders and hop scotch, while the Children’s Corner is the perfect place to relax and spot butterflies and bees emerging to enjoy the spring flowers.

Harlow Carr

30th March – 16th April 2018

Hop down to the garden and join in the hunt for the Lindt Gold Bunny, stories with the madcapped garden detectives, Easter crafts and birds-of-prey demonstrations. Over the Easter weekend the Easter Bunny will be hopping by – joined by some real bunnies, ducklings, lambs and goats. A daily Easter Trail starts on 24 March.

The World of James Herriot

I’m including this one as it’s somewhere I have always wanted to visit but never quite managed. Lots of Herriot related memorabilia, as well as the restored 1940’s house, and a ‘farrier’s workshop’.  I am secretly hoping Miss H will become a vet one day!
