Head down to Go Safari and meet the characters! This is your chance to pose with your favourite character with an awesome safari backdrop, making it a trip to remember!

Calling all fellow rangers! We need your help to locate our 9 missing animals. Grab a trail sheet and help us search the park to track them down.

Come along and meet REX the Valleysaurus! REX, Ebor’s friendly-ish cousin enjoys nothing more than eating (sorry meeting) guests…but beware if he’s hungry it maybe a close encounter!
Jungle Animal Encounters
We have brought the Jungle to you! This is your chance to get up close and personal with reptiles and other exotic animals. Jungle Explorers – will you be brave enough to hold a snake or a spider? This activity is available during Easter weekend only, 29 March – 1 April.

There’s something for the whole family at England’s Oldest Tourist Attraction, including the birthplace of the Yorkshire Prophetess Mother Shipton, the incredible Petrifying Well, a large children’s Adventure Playground (access is subject to weather conditions), and a Museum & Gift Shop. Scrumptious ice cream is available to purchase as well as hot dogs, sweet and savoury treats, take-away coffee, tea, hot chocolate and refreshments from our lovely vintage-style kiosks in the middle of the woodland walk.

Orchid Festival – We’ve transformed the ground floor of the house into a plant paradise, arranging several hundred beautiful orchids through the Great Hall and the adjoining rooms of our home. Stunning, often vibrantly-coloured and highly-scented, the diverse varieties of orchids take centre stage and offer us all a much-needed hit of flamboyant floral beauty. Our creative schemes celebrate the drama and diversity of this fascinating plant family, which grow exceptionally well as houseplants in our cool climate.

Castle Howard are running an Easter trail. Discover a menagerie of willow animals in our Gardens this Easter, and encounter foxes, owls, hares, and more! Collect your beautifully illustrated trail map and adventure around the Grounds to collect a series of clues to win a chocolatey prize.
Our enchanting trail is for children and families, and is a lovely outdoor experience surrounded by nature’s beauty. Don’t miss our Bunny photo opportunity to capture your Easter day out and look out for unexpected animals as you go!
