Hot Wheels Drone and Vehicle Set – When Master T was younger he absolutely adored Hot Wheels and had all the tracks and paraphernalia. As he got older, he moved onto other things and his cars were left sat in a drawer – treasured, but not played with.

Recently though he has been watching YouTube videos of others’ with Hot Wheels collections and it’s really sparked his interest again. His focus has shifted a bit and he likes the idea of becoming a collector of rare cars, but last week saw him and his sister dig out his old rug – you know the ones with roads on them? Then they had a great time playing on the floor together!

Best New Toy 2017
When I was asked if I would like to review the Hot Wheels drone and vehicle set from Bladez Toys, I couldn’t say no, could I? It was awarded a Best New Toy accolade in the Action Toys category at January’s London Toy Fair at Olympia.
Master T was very excited and got everything set up outside so I could take photos (and so he could play obviously!).
In the set you get your drone (it’s small and can sit in the palm of your hand), and a lightweight car to attach it to. You can play with them together or separate. Master T took great pleasure in flying the drone on its own around the garden. It’s quite stable and after a few goes he got very good at it.
We then attached the car – it does not fly with the car attached but the drone propels the car along at a decent pace, and you control it with the remote control. The set comes with heavy card ramps, which need a bit of a run up, but are great fun.
It’s very much a two in one toy, so good value and great for the older kids. You can buy the Hot Wheels Drone set here, from Argos.
