Great Yorkshire Farms for the Kids – my kids are getting older now, but we always loved farm parks.
With petting zoos, sand pits, climbing frames and barrel rides, there is so much for them to do and it’s great for them to run wild outside.
I’ve put a list together for you of some of the best farm parks in Yorkshire. I’ve also adding some extra places that might not be actual farm parks but tick similar boxes with lots of outdoor play.
Piglets Adventure Farm Park, York
Towthorpe Grange, Towthorpe Moor Ln, Towthorpe, York YO32 9ST
Piglets has always been one of our favourites.
“What will you do first? Jump for joy on our Bouncing Pillows, take a swing at Crazy Golf or tackle the Olym-Pig Assault Course! You can sculpt sandcastles in the Giant Sand Pit, climb over Giant Pigs, beat mum and dad on the Pedal Go-Karts, be a farmer on your own Kidbine Tractor, and explore the Fairy Tale and Farmyard Trails… there’s just so much to do!
And the fun continues indoors! Hop aboard the Tractor & Trailer ride to our Undercover Indoor Play Barn, race friends on Ride-on Tractors, brave our Drop Slides and dig for victory on our NEW JCB wooden diggers!
Come and have a great family day out!”

Cannon Hall Farm
Bark House Ln, Cawthorne, Barnsley S75 4AT
From their website: ‘Cannon Hall Farm is officially the best family day out in Yorkshire after being named Best Large Visitor Attraction in the White Rose Awards. There’s a reason why we’ve won multiple awards – and why we have been called the perfect family day out.
Come and visit our family owned farmed in the rolling Pennine foothills and spend the day admiring the scenery, the animals and letting the kids run off some steam in our amazing play areas.’.

From the Beetle Bank Farm website: “From pygmy hedgehogs to rheas, turkeys to goats, we have lots of wonderful animals for you to get to know. Our friendly staff are on hand to answer your questions and help you look after these beautiful creatures.
Let off steam in the fields, go wild in the adventure playground, have fun in the sand pit or ride on the tractors and play with the inflatables. We predict two things: you won’t be bored and you’ll sleep well tonight!
Café and farm shop
Relax and revive over breakfast, lunch or a cup of tea in our café looking out over the beautiful grounds. All our food and produce is local, delicious and homemade.”

“We hope you’ll like what we’ve done so far, and there’s more to come – we have extended the Petting Barn, installed a new Kids Mini Train Ride, two gigantic Air Bouncers, refurbished the picnic and play area near the pond and we’ve been working hard to make our paths more pram and wheelchair friendly.”

Clifton Gate Business Park, Wigginton Rd, York YO32 2RH
There is lots to do at the Web Adventure Park from a huge soft play to fairground rides, large sand pit and petting zoo.
“Come and explore our animal zone, a lovely area to walk around and visit our furry friends. Animal feed can be purchased and dropped into the troughs for them to gobble up.

William’s Den, North Cave, East Yorkshire
William’s Den includes a 475sqm play barn and extensive outdoor play – including a 50metre zip wire, den making area and ‘mountains and molehills’ space for kids to run, jump and roll around freely. It’s fab and completely worth a visit.

York Maze, North Yorkshire
York Maze is brilliant and a fantastic day out, we love it there and go every year. With a huge maize maze, bouncy pillows, giant slides and brilliant shows, it really is one of the best family days out Yorkshire.
Stockeld Park, Wetherby
Stockeld Park is one of my favourite family days out in Yorkshire. There will be a roller or ice rink as well as the Enchanted Forest and the Maze. The Indoor play area will also be in place to let the kids play while you have a cuppa.
