We recently returned to Domes Aulūs Elounda in Crete after visiting earlier this year and loving it. You can read my review about that stay here. When we first visited we stayed in a Sapphire Nest Room, but really wanted to return to try out Greco Levante – the Cool Living section of the hotel.

Greco Levante is based on a hotel-within-a-hotel concept and you can only access it if you are staying in a Cool Living room. I have written all about Greco Levante and what is included in the concept here, but I also wanted to have a separate post on the room we stayed in which was the Sapphire Zen Suite with Bathtub (actually a gorgeous corner jacuzzi on the balcony!).
You can see the video review here:

Our room was immediately opposite the Cool Living area so a very quick and easy walk over whenever we wanted to. As you entered the room, there is a loo and sink to your left behind a nice sliding door and to your right there was a huge wetroom/shower.

My friend, Lisa was very excited to see that the shower products were by Korres. She had discovered these products on a previous trip to Rhodes and had already bought some to take home from Elounda. (A quick note for Korres lovers – there are lots of Korres products in Heraklion Airport too).

The room itself is large with a Queen bed (I think in the UK we consider this to be king size) and lots of comfortable pillows. The bed is raised on a wooden platform which neatly delineates it from the rest of the room.

The room is beautifully designed with lots of neutral earthy tones and a huge array of different styles of lighting from large task lighting to intimate lamps and even under-bed lights.

The room has air-con of course as well as a ceiling fan. Technology wise, there’s a large flat screen TV as well as a speaker with which to play your music. There are plug points either side of the bed, complete with USB jacks to charge your devices.

The wardrobe has everything you would expect, including robes, a room safe, iron and ironing board and hospitality items.

There’s a Nespresso coffee maker and pods as well as tea, milk and sugar.

The mini bar is complimentary and included soft drinks, water and a couple of bottles of beer. I have to say though that between the fabulously well stocked bars and the ‘Grab and Go’ fridges around the resort, we barely touched the mini-bar. But it’s certainly nice to have the option, especially if you want to relax on your balcony with a drink in your private tub!

On top of the mini bar there were also some crisps, nuts, Greek delight and bottle of liqueur (which I brought home!)

There’s a desk or dressing table with two chairs in the room as well as a comfortable sofa and coffee table.
The real star attraction though is the balcony. It’s huge, has its own sofa, and two chairs (one of which rocks!).

As well as this fabulous jacuzzi bath where you can sit and take in this absolutely magnificent view!

It was a fabulous room with everything you would need, magnificent views and really close to the Cool Living area.
