Finding the Mid Stay Car Park at Leeds Bradford Airport
Getting to Leeds Bradford Airport is fairly straightforward, and once we were on the airport roads, we followed the signs for the car parks.
We found the Mid Stay without too much trouble. If you have ever used the one hour stay section, then you will be in familiar territory (I did this when picking up Mr W after a ‘lads’ trip’ earlier this year! There is a roundabout you go around before turning right to the one hour pickup area – rather than turning right here, you turn left!
Once inside the car park, it was simply a case of finding a space and getting ourselves organised.
One thing I particularly liked was that we could park the car ourselves and keep hold of our keys. There was no handing the car over to anyone else and no waiting around for somebody to collect it.
We grabbed our cases, locked the car and headed towards the terminal.
Simple!
How far is it from the terminal?
This was probably the main thing I wanted to know before booking.
The airport says the Mid Stay Car Park is around a 6–9 minute walk from the terminal, depending on where you’ve parked.
We didn’t find the walk a problem at all. There are ‘pedestrian’ road markings showing you the way to the terminal.
Obviously, we had our luggage with us, but it was perfectly manageable. It has a very slight incline (though this is nice when you are leaving to head back to you car as gravity helps!)
I liked the fact that we could just walk straight to the terminal rather than having to wait for a shuttle bus.
If you’re travelling with very young children or lots of luggage, it’s worth bearing the walking distance in mind. But for us, it was absolutely fine. You can also choose to use a shuttle bus from the mid stay car park though.
Why did we choose Mid Stay?
There are several parking options at Leeds Bradford Airport, so why did we go for Mid Stay?
For us, it was all about finding a happy medium.
The Premium Short Stay is closer to the terminal, but the Mid Stay is more affordable. We have reviewed the Premium Short Stay here.

With Mid Stay, we got to park on-site, keep our keys and walk to the terminal. It really just depends on your individual circumstances. I have to say though that I don’t think there is a bad car park at Leeds Bradford!
Would we use it again?
Yes, I think we would.
Airport parking isn’t exactly the most exciting part of going on holiday, but when it’s easy and hassle-free, you really can’t ask for much more.
We parked the car, grabbed our luggage and walked to the terminal without having to wait for a bus or worry about someone else moving our car.
The walk was short enough that we didn’t feel like we were miles away, but we also weren’t paying for the most expensive parking option.
For us, the Mid Stay Car Park at Leeds Bradford Airport was a good balance of convenience and price, and I’d happily consider using it again on our next trip.
And after all, once the car is parked and you’re walking towards departures with your suitcase behind you, the holiday has officially begun!
