On our recent trip to Crete, we flew from Leeds Bradford Airport. I can’t tell you how thrilling this was for me after years of flying from Gatwick and Heathrow! I hadn’t flown from Leeds Bradford for at least 20 years! I can’t tell you how nice it was to be back and how I am planning to go more places I can fly to from there! We are based just East of York and it is just over an hour’s drive (as opposed to the six-ish hours to Gatwick!).
Anyway, the proximity (whilst a big deal to me) isn’t the only attraction. It’s a small airport and everyone is so friendly. We arrived in the middle of the night (both for departure and arrival) and booked into the Premium Short Stay car park (other options available!)
Parking is easy to book online and you receive instructions as to where the car park is via email. The link to Google Maps is included and I used this to navigate to the entrance to the car park. You are also provided with a ‘What Three Words’ reference.
Regardless though, the Premium Stay Car Park was very easy to find and just a short walk to the terminal entrance. It felt very easy and very safe. The car park was well lit.
The car park works with an ANPR system so I didn’t need to provide any paperwork. I just drove up to the barrier. It recognised my car registration and opened for me. From there I easily found a parking space.
The premium short stay car park has wider (2.7m) parking bays which was perfect for my jalopy of a Land Rover. Not to mention the fact that I am rubbish at parking!
When we returned from our trip, it was very easy to walk over to the car, drive to the barrier which automatically opened. From there I was in bed in less than an hour and a half – perfect!
We were invited to stay in and review the parking at Leeds Bradford Airport. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
