We recently had a fabulous time at the Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island where we stayed in an interconnecting family room. This basically meant two rooms that mirrored each other with a connecting door – which is absolutely perfect for families. One of the rooms was 3201, on the third floor – perfectly positioned. They were close to the elevators but with no noise from them at all. Also, they were on the side of the hotel that has the Turquoise Buffet, so were really very convenient.
Don’t miss our review of the rest of the hotel here.
Each room was exactly the same so I will describe just the one and you will know that it means both rooms.
To start with there is a huge and comfortable Super King bed. This came with bedside tables and bedside lamps of course but also had a double USB socket next to the bedside table on both sides of the bed. This is perfect for us as we travel with a lot of tech, plus I like my phone by the bed so I can check the time in the middle of the night and if it’s charging on the other side of the room I’m not happy. As you can see the plug sockets are the same as the UK.
There is even a further USB near the sofa in the bedroom. Speaking of which – there is a sofa in the bedroom! There is also a large flat screen TV, low table and mini bar.
The minibar is complimentary in the all-inclusive package and is refreshed everyday. Now, it has to be said, this is a magnificent mini bar! Do have a look at the photos you can see there are eight cans bottled water, two fruit juices, two tonic waters and two soda waters.
But that’s not all, in the cupboard to the right of the minibar you will find two bags of Lays crisps, two Snickers type chocolate bars called Yonkers and two chocolate bars that look to be inspired by Kit Kats. Not that you will ever get through all this food and drink because there is plenty to be had in the hotel.
There were also several bottles of water with the tea and coffee making facilities.
But to continue with the description of the room – there is a large bathroom which comes with a separate toilet and bidet and a large walk-in shower. The toiletries are all L’ Occitane which I have tried before at Rixos the Palm, and they are glorious! You really don’t need to take any of your own toiletries.
In the large part of the bathroom, you will find your own sink and mirror of course, but also an enormous freestanding bath – perfect for whiling away half an hour while you work through the cans in your minibar!
There are two large wardrobes and a central cupboard where you’ll find your safe, as well as drawers for your belongings. In one of the wardrobes there is an ironing board and iron.
Oh and in our room we had a balcony. I say a balcony but as we had two rooms we had two balconies which was very decadent!
We had this lovely view from our balcony of the swim up rooms.
Please do take a look at our review of the hotel restaurants, spa, pools and beach. We also visited Rixos Marina in Abu Dhabi and you can see that review here. Last year we reviewed the Junior Suite at Rixos the Palm in Dubai.
We visited the hotel as part of a press trip, but as always, all opinions expressed are our own.
