I sometimes have friends come to visit looking for campsites near York (and why wouldn’t you – York is a fabulous place to visit!). So, I have put together a list of York campsites for tents and caravans. The Rowntree Park Caravan club is set on the riverside and one of the few campsites in York itself.. It’s in a pretty location though and you don’t realise you are almost in the city itself. One of the nicer York campsites open all year.

Set in Yorkshire close to York and market towns Beverley, Howden and Pocklington, we are near to the gateway to the Wolds boasting wonderful scenery and within easy reach of wonderful East Coast seaside resorts Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. About 15 miles from the outskirts of York.
At Grantchester you will find a private sheltered site surrounded by mature trees and hedgerows. There is a unisex washroom facility complete with showers, washbasins, and toilets. Situated just outside the York ring road.
York Marine boasts the idyllic Riverside Campsite, set in beautiful country surroundings on the banks of the River Ouse. The campsite has great transport links and is perfectly located for those wishing to visit and explore the Yorkshire Coast, North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. Riverside Camping is licensed to accept caravans, motor homes and tents. We are open from 1st March to 31st October and accept bookings all year round. On the outskirts of York.

Family friendly, with space to run and play. Pet friendly with walks through fields and meadows. Home Farm nestles alongside the River Ouse. It is this tranquil setting and the traditional conservation practices we use on the farm that provide homes for many birds and animals. About five miles from the ring road.
Best Yorkshire Campsites York
Nestled in a half-acre paddock, Millbridge Farm Camping and Caravan Park is located on the outskirts of the village of Naburn, just 4 miles from York city centre. It’s ideally located for visitors wishing to explore and enjoy York, the Yorkshire Coast towns of Scarborough and Whitby, or the Yorkshire Moors and Dales. Camping and Caravan Club Certificated, we have several hard standing pitches, a large rally field and a brand new shower and toilet block. The site forms part of our smallholding where we rear sheep, pigs, pygmy goats and chickens. There’s always something interesting going on just over the fence, especially in spring when the newborn lambs, piglets, chicks and kids arrive.
Our site is in a peaceful, friendly and historically important location, very convenient for the historic City of York being only 3 miles from York Minster.
