This year Burnby Hall Gardens in Pocklington have launched a new Christmas event – Illuminate! The gardens are beautifully lit up on a clockwise trail around the central lake.
Illuminate is a magical night-time lighting event set in the stunning Burnby Hall Gardens, running from November 29th to December 21st 2024.
My favourite spot was the bridge completely covered in lights. You can’t walk over the bridge but it makes a fabulous spot for a Christmas photo!
We visited during the press preview and it was so cold that the lake was frozen over – it does not get more winter wonderland than a frozen lake!
I would say allow an hour and a half to two hours for the trail (less if you have small children that run ahead!).
At the end of the trail there is a marquee serving hot drinks, baked potatoes, soup and cake. I’ll post a selection of photos below so you can see what there is and prices.
