The Holiday Inn at Manchester Airport by IHG is in an excellent location if you are flying from Terminal 2.
It’s just over the road and has an easy pedestrian crossing which is good as the roads can get busy around there.
We were flying with our teenager so had a room for three. This was a large double bed and a sofa bed. I have to say that the sofa bed looked very comfortable with lots of cushions that the teenager made a pillow fort with!
We booked a standard room online, but as we finalised the booking, we were offered an upgrade to a premium room with fully stocked minibar. The upgrade cost was an additional £33 – although we were very tempted, we couldn’t quite justify the cost.
A week before our stay we received a further email offering us the same upgrade for £23. This time we decided to go ahead! The minibar was very nicely stocked with all of this.
We were only in the hotel for one night before an early flight the next day but the drinks didn’t go to waste and anything left over was stashed in my suitcase. Bear in mind though that if you only have hand luggage, you can’t take any liquids over 100 ml as yet. However, they were absolutely fine in my checked-in suitcase!
The room had a nice bathroom with shower and plenty of towels.
There are also USB points in the plugs if you forget to bring a plug for your charger.
On the ground floor there is a Turkish restaurant, we didn’t visit it but I did take some photos of the menu.
There is also a snack bar.
It’s also worth knowing that because Terminal 2 is so very close you can pop in to pick up some takeaway. We indulged in some KFC, but you will also find an M&S food and a Greggs!
The hotel also has a bar on the 7th floor which on this occasion we didn’t visit.
The hotel has everything you need, is clean, modern, and perhaps most importantly a 2-minute walk from Terminal 2.
