Best Hotels to Stay at Manchester Airport with Reviews – There’s nothing quite like the panic of a 4am alarm when you’ve got a holiday flight to catch. Do you really want to be crawling out of bed at home, dragging the suitcases into the car and hoping the M60 behaves itself? True story – we once got two punctures in succession on a middle-of-the-night journey to Manchester Airport. We missed that flight (and subsequently the entire holiday!) and have never risked it since!
That’s why staying at a Manchester Airport hotel the night before your flight can be such a good idea. You can have a leisurely dinner, get a decent night’s sleep and wake up knowing the airport is practically on your doorstep.
But which hotel should you choose? I’ve picked out five of the best Manchester Airport hotels, from the ultra-convenient to the stylish newcomer.
I am listing two that we have stayed in and reviewed for first hand reviews. I’ll add to the list as we try out more too.
Holiday Inn Manchester Airport
The Holiday Inn is a particularly handy choice, especially if you’re flying from Terminal 2. We have stayed here a couple of times now. It’s right next to the Ibis Budget and a very short walk into Terminal 2.
The hotel has the familiar Holiday Inn combination of comfortable rooms, food and drink, and dependable facilities. It’s also scored 8.8/10 on Booking.com from thousands of guest reviews, which is a pretty encouraging sign.
Why stay here? It’s a straightforward, comfortable option without too much fuss.
Best for: Families and anyone flying from Terminal 2.

Crown Plaza Manchester Airport
If you’d like your airport stopover to feel a little bit more special, the Crowne Plaza is worth considering.
This is a four-star option with a more polished feel than some of the purely functional airport hotels. It’s also within the airport complex, so you’re still getting that all-important convenience.
Guest reviews currently put it at around 8.5/10 on Booking.com, with more than 9,000 reviews.
And that’s really the appeal of the Crowne Plaza: you can have a proper hotel experience the night before your holiday, rather than feeling as though you’ve simply booked somewhere to sleep beside the runway.
Why stay here? A good choice if comfort matters just as much as getting to the terminal. They also have a choice of restaurants.

ibis budget Manchester Airport
We recently stayed at ibis budget Manchester Airport, which is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2. If you’ve got an early flight, the location really couldn’t be much more convenient. It’s hidden slightly behind the Holiday Inn Manchester Airport (above).
The rooms are definitely budget rather than boutique, and they are compact – if you are sleeping in a double room, one of you will be against a wall. It’s clean and modern though and usually a good price, especially for one so close to Terminal 2!

Radisson Blu
If convenience is your number-one priority, it’s hard to beat the Radisson Blu.
The big selling point is the covered Skylink walkway, which connects the hotel with the airport. That means no waiting around for a shuttle bus, no worrying about rain and, most importantly, no trying to find your way to the terminal at silly o’clock in the morning. The hotel is particularly handy for Terminal 2.
Rooms are comfortable and there are plenty of facilities, including a restaurant, bar, gym and swimming pool. And if you’re anything like me, there’s something rather lovely about watching the planes taking off while you’re safely tucked up in your hotel room.
Why stay here? It’s the easiest option if you want to roll out of bed and practically straight into the airport.
Best for: Early flights and maximum convenience.
TRIBE Manchester Airport
TRIBE is one of the newer additions to the Manchester Airport hotel scene, and it feels rather different from the traditional airport hotel.
It has a much more modern, design-led feel, with contemporary rooms, a lively bar and Italian food at TRIBE Table. There’s also a café counter for those early-morning snacks and coffees when you’re not quite ready for a full breakfast.
The rooms aren’t enormous, but they’re cleverly designed and reviewers particularly like the comfortable beds, cleanliness and soundproofing. It’s also within walking distance of the airport terminals.
Why stay here? It feels more like a stylish city hotel than somewhere you’ve booked simply because you’re catching a flight.
Best for: Couples, short stays and anyone who likes a more contemporary hotel.
Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport
The Clayton is a real favourite with airport travellers and for good reason.
It’s close to the terminals and has a free airport shuttle, which makes getting to your flight nice and straightforward. It also offers park-and-stay packages, making it particularly appealing if you’re leaving the car behind while you’re away.
Inside, you’ll find a restaurant, bar and comfortable rooms, while the sheer number of reviews and its long-standing reputation make it something of a safe bet.
It might not have the boutique feel of TRIBE, but sometimes you don’t actually want boutique. Sometimes you just want a comfy bed, an easy transfer and somewhere that knows exactly what airport passengers need.
Why stay here? A great balance of convenience, facilities and value.
Best for: Families, couples and park-and-fly stays.
One thing worth remembering is that Manchester Airport has changed considerably in recent years, with Terminal 2 now the main terminal and Terminal 1 having closed in November 2025. So it’s worth checking which terminal your airline is using before booking your hotel.
