A Four-Night Jersey Itinerary for Foodies and Spa Lovers

When you think about a trip to Jersey, you might picture beautiful beaches, coastal walks, historic castles and plenty of sunshine.

And while we certainly could have spent four days ticking off all the usual Jersey sights, our trip with Jet2holidays took a rather more indulgent approach.

Think luxury hotels, leisurely afternoon teas, spa treatments, excellent food, wine tasting and, because no trip is complete without a bit of entertainment, a Robbie Williams tribute act!

Yes, we definitely made the most of our four nights in Jersey.

Our Jersey holiday with Jet2holidays

Jersey is perfect for short breaks, giving us just enough time to settle into island life without feeling as though we needed a holiday afterwards to recover from our holiday.

Our itinerary was a lovely mixture of relaxing and eating — two things I’m always very happy to combine!

We stayed at The Royal Yacht Hotel in St Helier, which was our base for the trip, and then headed out to some other lovely restaurants and hotels in Jersey during our stay.

Here’s everything we got up to.

Staying at The Royal Yacht Hotel

Our Jersey adventure began with check-in at The Royal Yacht Hotel in St Helier.

Being right in the centre of St Helier made it a convenient base for our stay, and after travelling it was lovely to get checked in, settle ourselves in and know that our Jersey break had officially begun.

Bags were dumped, the room investigated, and suddenly the stresses of everyday life seemed a very long way away.

And we weren’t hanging around for long because we had dinner to get to!

Dinner at The Grill

Our first evening meal was at The Grill in The Royal Yacht itself.

After travelling, we were ready for a proper meal, and it was a great introduction to the hotel and to the food-filled few days ahead.

Because if there’s one thing we discovered on this trip, it’s that Jersey is a very good place to come if you like eating.

And fortunately, we do!

Afternoon Tea and Spa at Longueville Manor

The following day was all about relaxation.

We headed to Longueville Manor, one of Jersey’s beautiful historic properties, for an afternoon of spa treatments and afternoon tea.

Now, I’m not sure there is a better combination.

A spa treatment followed by afternoon tea is pretty much my perfect day out.

Longueville Manor also provides a beautiful setting for the experience, making it feel like a real occasion rather than simply popping out for a cup of tea and a cake.

And there was absolutely no rushing.

One of the things I loved about this trip was the pace. We weren’t constantly racing off to see the next attraction. Instead, we had time to sit down, relax and actually enjoy the places we were visiting.

Which, let’s face it, is exactly what a holiday should be about.

Dinner at Park House Thai

After our afternoon of pampering, we headed to Park House Thai for dinner.

Thai food was a lovely change of pace after afternoon tea, and it was another reminder of just how varied the dining scene is in Jersey.

It was also becoming apparent that we’d somehow managed to create a holiday itinerary where practically every activity involved food.

I’m not complaining.

L’Horizon Hotel – Afternoon Tea and Spa

Our next day brought another rather fabulous hotel experience.

This time we visited L’Horizon Hotel for more afternoon tea and spa time.

L’Horizon has a completely different atmosphere from Longueville Manor, and the setting gives you that wonderful feeling of being beside the sea.

There is something particularly relaxing about a spa day when you know you’re surrounded by coastal views.

Add afternoon tea into the equation and you’ve got yourself a pretty perfect Jersey afternoon.

By this point, we were becoming very accustomed to being pampered.

In fact, going home was starting to look like a terrible idea.

Dinner at Indian Ocean

That evening we headed to the Indian Ocean for dinner.

I know it’s hard to believe but yes, we managed another meal!

Indian Ocean gave us another chance to experience Jersey’s varied restaurant scene, and it was another enjoyable evening during our stay.

A Spa Session at The Royal Yacht

Of course, we couldn’t stay at The Royal Yacht without making use of the hotel’s own spa.

This was particularly convenient because there was no need to head anywhere — we could simply retreat to the hotel and relax.

I think this was one of the things that worked so well about our Jersey break.

There was a lovely balance between going out and exploring different places and simply enjoying the facilities at our hotel.

Sometimes the best part of a holiday is not having to do anything at all.

Wine Tasting at La Mare Wine Estate

On our last full day we squeezed in a wine tasting at La Mare Wine Estate.

Wine tasting is one of those activities that sounds sophisticated and cultured, but is really just an excuse for some daytime drinking!

It was a lovely experience and fitted perfectly with the relaxed, indulgent theme of our Jersey trip.  True to form we also managed to try out the cafe for sandwiches and chunky chips while we were there!

Dinner at Nomu

That evening we headed to Nomu for dinner.

By this stage we’d sampled quite a range of food during our stay, and Nomu was another enjoyable addition to our Jersey food tour.

It was also our final evening, so we wanted to make the most of it.

So we weren’t finished yet…

A Robbie Williams Tribute Act at The Drift

Because what better way to finish a luxury Jersey break than with a Robbie Williams tribute act? (Ok, that’s a bit random!)

We headed to The Drift, where we enjoyed an evening of entertainment.

After all the afternoon teas, spa treatments and wine tasting, it was great to finish the trip on a lively note.

And there is something rather entertaining about going from luxury afternoon tea and spa treatments to singing along to Robbie Williams!

It certainly wasn’t the most predictable end to our Jersey holiday — but it was a lot of fun.

Our four nights in Jersey

Four nights doesn’t sound like a huge amount of time, but we managed to pack plenty into our Jersey trip.

We stayed at The Royal Yacht, enjoyed spa experiences and afternoon tea at both Longueville Manor and L’Horizon Hotel, relaxed in the hotel Spa, went wine tasting, ate at some lovely restaurants and even fitted in a Robbie Williams tribute act.

It was a different way to experience Jersey.

Rather than trying to tick off every attraction on the island, this trip was about taking our time and enjoying the good things — lovely hotels, good food, wine, afternoon tea and a little bit of pampering.

And I think that’s something Jersey does particularly well.

It’s a destination where you can be as active as you want to be, but you can also slow down and enjoy the finer things.

Exploring St Helier Market

We also made time to wander around St Helier Market on our last days as our flights were not until mid-afternoon.

Located right in the heart of St Helier, the market was a lovely way to get a feel for everyday island life and, as we were visiting in autumn, there was plenty of seasonal produce to enjoy.

The stalls were full of beautiful autumnal colours, with pumpkins and gourds sitting alongside fresh local produce, flowers and all sorts of tempting treats.

And, of course, being surrounded by so much lovely food, we couldn’t resist having a look at what was on offer.

We tried these fabulous sandwiches:

Cakes from the bakery:

I also tried one of the Jersey Wonders (I thought this was apt given the name of this site!).  It’s deep fried scone batter, and tastes a bit like a doughnut (I personally think a good dunking in sugar would have been beneficial!).

Finally, we took some Jersey fudge home for the teenagers!

Would we go back to Jersey?

Absolutely.

Although four nights gave us a wonderful taste of the island, it definitely left us with plenty more to discover.

I’d also happily repeat the afternoon tea and spa combination!

Actually, if anyone needs me, I’ll be in the spa.

With cake.

And possibly a glass of wine.

Dinner at The Grill at The Royal Yacht Hotel Jersey Review

With flights to Jersey from Leeds Bradford taking only just over an hour it is a perfect luxury escape — relaxing, indulgent and with just the right amount of fun.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

We were invited on the trip with Jet2holidays for the purposes of this review.  As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
