If you are planning a trip to London then the good news is there really is something for everyone. You will never be bored in London, you will also never be short of things to eat and drink. Oxford Street

 

If you love shopping then London has some fantastic shopping sites for you to visit. If you are heading to London near christmas time then you will certainly want to visit oxford street to see the beautiful lights. You can also find the famous shops all lit up, these include Harrods and Selfridges. Of course, Oxford Street isn’t the only famous shopping street in London. You also have the likes of Bond Street, Regent Street, and Covent Garden. If you prefer shopping centers, and with the famous rainy weather who doesn’t then you could visit Westfield shopping centre in either Stratford or Shepherds Bush. 

 

South Bank

 

The Southbank is one of the nicest places to walk in London, lined with trees along the river thames. There is a world famous skateboarding park where you could pass the time for hours, joining in or even watching them do some fantastic tricks. You could also visit the London aquarium while you are along the southbank, you can see rays and tiger sharks if marine life is more your thing.

Did you know that the wonderful tower of London was in fact London’s first zoo? This is before all the animals were rehomed at the now ever popular London zoo in Regent’s park. You might want to take a tour around the tower of london to learn all about the royals over time and get a glimpse of the crown jewels. You can even see the robes that are used when new kings and queens are crowned. The Beefeaters that are there used to be paid a pittance to protect the tower, however, they certainly earned that pay rise.

Do you love learning about different things while you are away? How about doing something that won’t cost you any money for the entry, visit the many museums that London has to offer. Which ones you visit will depend on the type of things you are interested in, this could be fashion or even history. In Kensington you have two museums, the science museum and the natural history museum  where you can learn all about the dinosaurs and how toilets were invented. If fashion is more your thing then you must visit the Victoria and Albert museum to see some beautiful dresses and outfits from over the years.

Theatre 

 

Something else that London is famous for is its West End, the home of theatre. There is always a show on in the West End so you will never be short of something to watch. You also have theatres dotted around London, Victoria Apollo for example. They also show wonderful shows such as Wicked, which is doing outstandingly well in cinemas currently. If you do get the chance to book one of London’s shows then you absolutely must. 

 

Hyde Park 

 

Finally, traveling to London around the winter months can only mean one thing, you need to visit winter wonderland. What once started out as a small funfair is now a 350 acre Christmas in London staple. It has stalls selling a variety of things including trinkets, food, and drinks. It also has many rides and attractions, which you need to book separately. If you book for rides in winter wonderland then you will get your entry free, make sure you read the small print on that one.
