Available exclusively in selected Waitrose stores, Charlie Bigham’s Sticky Toffee Pudding, Sticky Ginger Pudding, Chocolate Fondant, Bread & Butter Pudding and Cherry Bakewell Pudding all appear in the brand’s iconic wooden trays (RRP £5.50 for a 2-4 person serving).
Mermaid Salt Vodka
We have tried the Mermaid Gin before and it is marvellous and such beautiful presentation! From the Isle of Wight Distillery, Mermaid Salt Vodka is infused with locally sourced sea salt that enhances its smoothness and flavour – described as being ‘like the subtle kiss of a mermaid’. The salt comes from local supplier ‘Wight Salt’ and is harvested from water collected in the powerful flood tide off the island’s southern coast – an area prone to extreme storms that churn up the ocean floor, releasing huge amounts of flavour-packed nutrients. Naturally evaporated by sun and wind, the resultant sea salt retains a depth of flavour and distinct sweetness. Perfect on its own over ice or with a mixer, Mermaid Salt Vodka also layers on a unique savoury element for cocktails that you just can’t get with other vodkas. The bottle is plastic-free, with an all-natural cork and wooden top, complemented with a plant-based, biodegradable seal. Prosecco Frizzante Sur Lie No Added Sulphur
From Vintage Roots – Our first ‘No Sulphur Added’ Prosecco from the innovative Giol estate, is distinctively full-flavoured and dry, having been produced ‘sur lie’. This process of lees ageing (resting on the yeasts) adds notes of crusty bread and white peach to this fizz. Please note this live and natural wine can appear a little cloudy towards the bottom, as it contains some harmless yeast deposit.
Bobby’s Schiedam Dry Gin (a Dutch-Indonesian hybrid with Xmassy flavours of cloves and cinnamon)
Bobby’s is a Dutch-Indonesian hybrid that celebrates the 150 year old shared history of the two countries. Described as ‘Dutch courage mixed with Indonesian spice’, the recipe blends a base of juniper with whole clove, cubeb pepper, cinnamon, lemongrass, rose hips, fennel and coriander. It’s spicy and fragrant, with a burst of citrus and a bite of pepper. With the recommended garnish being a clove-studded orange slice, it’s an exotic gin that also beautifully incorporates some familiar Christmas flavours!
