After thrilling audiences in London’s West End and on Broadway, the Olivier and Whats On Stage Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated musical &Juliet comes to Leeds Grand Theatre from Mon 18–Sat 30 November 2024.
& Juliet is a fabulous re-visioning of Juliet’s story if it hadn’t ended in tragedy. It is the very epitome of a modern musical with so many of your favourite pop bangers and ballads that will have you dancing in your seat (and on your feet by the end of the night!).
Everything about & Juliet is playful and bright. The set design has a fabulous carnival feel with stunning immersive visuals, pyrotechnics and absolutely splendid confetti cannons!
I must mention also, that it’s very funny with an incredibly charismatic cast of so many memorable characters. Juliet herself is young, strong and inspirational in a manner that her original character was lacking. She is the Juliet we didn’t realise we were waiting for.
The vocals in the show were excellent, with so many great singers but the standout performance was by Lara Denning – simply amazing.
This is a musical that will make you happy. It’s a big, bold, funny, feel-good night out.
The Official bit:
& Juliet will star The X Factor winner and award-winning West End actor Matt Cardle as Shakespeare, alongside Gerardine Sacdalan (Made in Dagenham In Concert) as Juliet,Sandra Marvin (Jessie Grant/Dingle in Emmerdale, Patricia Williams in Call The Midwife, Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act, Becky in Waitress) as Angélique and Lara Denning (standby Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, Miss Honey in Matilda, Miss Hedge in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Anne.
Winner of three Olivier Awards and six WhatsOnStage Awards,& Juliet will have the audience up on its feet and roaring for more.
