I didn’t plan on buying new bras. It just sort of happened the way these things always do — standing in front of the wardrobe, suitcase half-open, realising most of my bras were either past their best or only comfortable if I wasn’t planning on leaving the house for more than an hour.
And with my trip to Dubai coming up, that simply wouldn’t do.

Long travel days, warm weather, floaty dresses, evenings that stretch on longer than you expect — I needed bras that wouldn’t dig in, rub, or make me desperate to whip them off the second I got back to the hotel. Comfort was top of the list, but I still wanted something that felt nice. You don’t go all that way just to feel vaguely held together by elastic.
That’s where Lounge came in. I’d heard plenty of chatter about them and what caught my attention was how often people said they forgot they were wearing them. That’s high praise in my book. So I ordered a few and waited for the postman like it was Christmas.
First impressions? Properly lovely. Soft fabrics, nothing scratchy, nothing that screamed “I’m going to annoy you by lunchtime.” They felt light in the hand, which immediately made sense for a hot-weather trip. These weren’t bras designed to armour you up — they were clearly made to move with you.
Trying them on, the overall feeling was… ease. The kind you don’t realise you’ve been missing until it’s there. Some gave a bit more shape and lift, others were more relaxed, but none felt restrictive. Ideal for travel days where you’re sitting for hours, standing in queues, wandering around unfamiliar places pretending you know where you’re going.

What really sold them for me was imagining them in real life — under linen shirts in the heat, under dresses at night, worn all day without that creeping irritation that builds until you’re silently furious with your underwear. These felt like bras I could trust to just get on with the job while I enjoyed myself.
So yes — Lounge bras earned their place in my suitcase. They feel like the kind of purchase you make not because you need something flashy, but because you want to feel comfortable, confident, and not distracted by what you’re wearing underneath. Also, I have to say, they are soooo pretty!
And for a trip like Dubai, where the days are long and the heat doesn’t mess about, that’s exactly what I wanted.
