We were recently sent the STIGA Aero cordless hover mower to review, and here it is. It’s perfect for smaller gardens and also perfect if you don’t have lots of space to store a huge lawnmower! You can hang it off the ground on the shed wall.
It has a cute design and is a jolly bright yellow, like a friendly little worker bee!
The key thing about it though is that it is a cordless hover mower. We love cordless battery appliances and have a great many from vacuum cleaners to strimmers and hedge cutters. They are just so easy to use! No needing an outside plug point or extension cable, and no more being terrified of cutting the cable in two! Just pop in the batteries and go. You do have to remember to charge the batteries before use (I charge them after use then they are ready for next time), but once charged STIGA estimate that you can mow up to 100sqm from one charge.
Another point about the batteries is that they will work with all 1-series STIGA tools interchangeably. The Aero comes with two batteries and both are used at once in this compartment in the handle.
I had a hover mower many years ago and always loved how easy and light it was to mow with. This is the first cordless hover mower – until now they have all been plug-in types. It’s very light and perfect for people with smaller gardens or those who can’t lug a big mower around! Ideal for slopes and banks.
I’ve taken a photo of the underside for you, because I am nosy and like to see that sort of thing, so I assume there will be others that do too! You can see the air-vents that make the mower lift off the ground and the blade that whizzes around. If you also like the technical side of things, the motor is 750W.
The above photo shows (what I am assuming is) the filter for air – working like a vacuum – pulling air in and then pushing it out underneath to lift the mower up. The filter can be removed to be cleaned, you can see the mower without the filter below.
All in all the STIGA Aero is a great piece of kit, light to use, no wires and convenient to store – perfect!
We were sent the STIGA Aero to review – but as always, all opinions expressed are my own.
