Roda Beach Resort & Spa, Corfu Review

There are some holidays where you spend your time rushing around trying to see absolutely everything, and then there are holidays where the biggest decision of the day is whether to sit by the pool or wander down to the beach. Our stay at Roda Beach Resort & Spa in Corfu was a bit of both!

Roda Beach Resort & Spa, Corfu Review

Situated on the north coast of Corfu, just outside the little resort of Roda, this sprawling all-inclusive hotel has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing Greek getaway – from pools and restaurants to a lovely stretch of beach and, of course, a spa.

First impressions

After arriving at the resort, we couldn’t help but be impressed by just how big it is. Rather than feeling like one enormous hotel, Roda Beach is spread across attractive landscaped gardens, with the accommodation dotted around the grounds.

And then there’s that location. The beach is right on the doorstep, which meant we could be from our room to the Ionian Sea in no time at all.

Basically, my kind of commute!

Our room

Our room was comfortable and spacious, with everything we needed for our stay. Having our own outdoor space was a real bonus too – particularly in the evening when we could sit outside with a drink and enjoy the warm Corfu air.

After a day in the sunshine, there really is nothing better than a shower, a change of clothes and a little sit down before heading out for dinner.

Pool or beach?

This was probably the hardest decision of the holiday!

Roda Beach has several swimming pools, as well as its own waterpark, so there’s certainly no shortage of places to cool off. The waterpark is particularly good for families, while the quieter corners of the resort are perfect if your idea of a holiday involves doing as little as humanly possible.

But for me, the beach was the star.

The sea was beautifully clear and, with the sand between your toes and the Greek sunshine overhead, it was exactly what I’d hoped for from a Corfu holiday.

Food, food and more food

One of the joys of an all-inclusive holiday is that you don’t have to think too hard about where you’re going to eat.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks are all readily available, with plenty of choice throughout the day.

There are various dining options around the resort, so you can mix things up rather than eating in exactly the same place every day. And let’s be honest, one of the best things about an all-inclusive is being able to wander off for a snack simply because you can.

Time to relax at the spa

After several days of swimming, eating, drinking and generally embracing the relaxed pace of Greek island life, we decided it was time for some proper pampering.

The resort’s spa provides a welcome escape from the livelier areas of the hotel, with treatments designed to help you unwind.

It was lovely to have somewhere to retreat to for a little peace and quiet. Although, admittedly, I think I could have quite happily spent the entire holiday alternating between the spa and a sun lounger!

Evenings at Roda Beach

As evening arrives, the resort comes alive with entertainment and activities.

There’s music, shows and plenty going on, so you don’t have to worry about finding somewhere to spend the evening. Alternatively, you can always head into Roda itself for a wander and a drink.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere – although, as with any large all-inclusive resort, it can get lively at times.

Our verdict

What I loved most about Roda Beach Resort & Spa was the fact that everything was so easy.

The beach was there. The pools were there. Food and drinks were there. The spa was there. And if we fancied doing absolutely nothing, there were plenty of places to simply find a sun lounger and enjoy the sunshine.

It felt like a proper holiday.

Corfu is one of those destinations that is incredibly easy to fall in love with, and having the beautiful Ionian Sea right outside the resort certainly helped.

Would I go back? Absolutely.

Sometimes you don’t need a complicated itinerary or a list of attractions to tick off. Sometimes you just need sunshine, a beautiful beach, a comfortable hotel and a cocktail with your name on it.

And Roda Beach Resort & Spa certainly gave us plenty of all four!
