Travelling to Orlando with Holiday Essentials from Very – ad

It’s starting to feel very real now – our Walt Disney World adventure is just around the corner and, honestly, I don’t think we’ve talked about much else for weeks!

There is something so exciting about the build-up to a Disney holiday. The planning, the lists, checking the weather (far too often!), and trying to remember everything we’ll need for those long, hot Florida days. I love this stage almost as much as the holiday itself. It really is all part of the experience, and I think the anticipation makes finally arriving feel even more special. Every little job ticked off the list feels like we’re one step closer to those magical moments.

One thing we’ve definitely been busy with is shopping. Florida in the summer is a whole different level of warm compared to home, so our wardrobes needed a bit of an update. We’ve stocked up on plenty of lightweight summer co-ords from Very.  Comfy shorts, t-shirts and dresses, all with those long park days in mind. Comfort is definitely winning over fashion this time – although I’m hoping we can manage a bit of both!

I’ve also treated myself to one of these fabulous cabin bags from Very.  It’s very cute and was marketed as a children’s cabin bag (which of course it still could be).  The main attraction for kids are these cute stickers it comes with.  There is a blue version with dinosaurs too.

I have to say that I won’t be using the stickers (though I will keep hold of them to add to one of my niece’s Christmas box).  My main reasoning was that luggage on all flights is expensive.  This size is perfect for the free ‘under seat’ cabin bag with easyJet (we are not flying to Orlando with easyJet – they don’t fly there – but, I am thinking ahead for future trips too!).  It’s amazing how useful a smaller cabin bag can be for weekend breaks or shorter holidays, so I know this one will get plenty of use long after our Disney trip.  It will save me a fortune in luggage fees too!

Now it’s all about the countdown. The Disney app has been checked more times than I’d like to admit, we’ve been chatting about our must-do rides, deciding which snacks are top of the list, and dreaming about that first glimpse of Cinderella’s Castle. It never seems to lose its magic, no matter how many planning videos you watch beforehand.

Of course, there’s still plenty to do before we head off. Packing lists need finalising, suitcases need filling (without going over the weight limit!), and I have a feeling there will be a few last-minute purchases before we leave.  I have made up a gorgeous outfit of this blue jacket, white top and white jeans.

I also love these trainers from Skechers.  Such a lovely soft blue and soooo comfy for long days walking round the parks.  I am also packing my scruffy old faithfuls too, so I can switch if my new ones start to rub – though these are so comfy I have high hopes that it won’t happen!
