Review of the Spa at Secrets Lanzarote Resort

Secrets Lanzarote Spa and Gym Review

We recently visited Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa and have reviewed the hotel here and the Preferred Club Swim Up Suite here.

Secrets Lanzarote has impressive spa and gym facilities. It is payable separate to your hotel stay and you can pay by the hour, for the morning or evening or even for the entirety of your stay.

We were given a few rules for our stay in the spa before we went in. It’s a relaxing space so voices have to be kept low. Your phone must be either left in your room or turned to silent. Both of these rules I felt were reasonable.

More outrageous rules were ‘no shaving in the spa’ (who shaves in a spa!?), and no nakedness in the spa. For us Brits this goes without saying but I do understand other nationalities have a different take on this!

We spent a lovely relaxing morning in the spa and were impressed by how much was there.

The spa pool was pleasantly warm but the main standout feature was all of the different bubble jets within it.

You will see buttons on the wall in different areas of the pool and these operate the different bubble jets. I have to say that some are quite ferocious, so approach with caution!

There are bubbles that come from beneath your feet as well as a nice seating area that provides a very robust hot tub experience.

You will also find different spouts from the side of the pool that will give your back a good pummeling!

There are two large hot tubs as well as two foot baths.

In addition to these, you will also see a beautiful modern sauna and a large steam room.

Something I’ve never seen before is a walk over volcanic stones. You walk along one side in cooler water and then back on the other side in warmer water. I guess this is a super modern approach to pumice stones.

There are four experience showers which are really something quite special and some I haven’t experienced before.

There is the cold water bucket which my friend always enjoys.  There is also a ‘Scottish shower’. I’m not sure why it’s called a Scottish shower. There was no shortbread or Irn Bru anywhere to be seen…but it was quite invigorating.

Don’t miss the infrared loungers tucked around the corner, again this is something I’ve never seen before. I have seen heated stone beds but not infrared beds like these.

There are lots of loungers lining the pool and there is also a relaxation room.

Outside there is a spa garden with lots more places to chill out.

The spa offers lots of treatments from facials to massages and the price for these are on the Inclusive app. You can download this from Google Play Store here, and the Apple App Store here.

I was very tempted but there was so much to do in the hotel we decided against it.

Gym

There is a large gym next to the spa.

This seems to be included in your holiday price and can be accessed by a swipe of your room key. There were all sorts of gym machines and free weights, as well as a stack of towels.
