If you’re heading to the capital just for the shops, then plan out your excursion before you go. This way you’ll squeeze in as many as you can while you’re there.
- The History
London is steeped in history, and much of it can be experienced through historical tours and exhibitions.
If the weather is mild (and dry) why not opt for a walking tour or an open top bus around the city, and benefit from the knowledge of the tour guides.
Alternatively, sites such as the Tower of London are a great choice for a day out that can be enjoyed by adults and kids alike – and of course, a better choice if it’s raining!

Navigating London by car isn’t a particularly relaxing experience. Luckily the transportation infrastructure around the city is fantastic. Leave the car at home and make use of the London underground. The majority of the city’s tourist attractions are close to a tube station, so you’ll have no trouble getting about.
