Thorpe Park Hotel Spa Day Review with Red Letter Days

Thorpe Park Hotel Spa Day Review – Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa is just off the M1 on the outskirts of Leeds and very easy to get to. We were invited to visit and review by Red Letter Days who gave us a voucher for the occasion. You just register your voucher online, ring the venue to book and then hand the voucher in on the day. There are lots of spa hotels in Leeds too.

So, we arrived at Thorpe Park at around ten and the car park was very busy (plus there is a parking charge – just so you are aware). We were shown to the relaxation room and given forms to fill in regarding our treatments. We were also offered a complimentary drink.

The relaxation room is one of the better ones I have seen, with lots of seating and loungers. The shaped loungers were seriously one of the comfiest I have ever experienced and if I could get one at home, I would like a shot! There is water to help yourself to in there as well as smoothies in the fridge. In the afternoon there was a plate of small flapjack pieces to help yourself to.

We were provided with a robe, towel and slippers, as well as an electronic wristband to work the lockers (I love these, so convenient and you don’t need a pound for your locker!). The ladies changing rooms are quite large with communal as well as private changing rooms. There are several large and private showers too.

The pool is large and has lots of comfortable seating around it. There are also large glass doors that are opened in the summer that lead out onto a pretty seating area. There is a sauna and steam room to one side of the pool, and a big jacuzzi to the other. A large glass wall gives a view of the spa restaurant at the end.

Our Red Letter Days voucher included a 25 minute treatment as well as a two course lunch. We spent the morning in the spa before heading off to lunch. It’s a relaxed restaurant and guests are welcomed in their gowns and slippers.

I ordered the baked brie and caramelised onion focaccia with toasted almonds and pomegranate syrup, which was delicious.

While my guest ordered the salmon and prawn salad.

We finished with a fruit salad:

After lunch we headed back to the relaxation room where we snuggled under the fleecy blankets until we were called for our treatments.  My guest had a back massage, while I had a lovely head massage. There are a choice of different 25 minute treatments included.

I was very impressed with the spa facilities at the Thorpe Park Hotel.  It wasn’t on my radar for a spa day (and I have tried lots!). It was only because it was on the Red Letter Days site that I considered it. It’s very easy to get to though, just off the M1 on the outskirts of Leeds.

Have a look at our list of other Spas in Yorkshire.

Red Letter Days invited us to try their vouchers, but as always, all opinions expressed are my own.
