7 Things you must do at Disneyland, California

Are you planning a trip to Disneyland, California? What are the best things to do once you arrive? What should you bring to Disneyland? Our full time traveling family enjoyed a month in California and a fun-filled day at Disneyland. Read on to find out the top 7 things you must do at Disneyland!

While you are here, have a look at what other things there are to do in California.

1. Sign up for Jedi Training!

If your child would enjoy being on stage training to become a Jedi, then be sure to arrive early to Disneyland. Walk immediately to Tomorrow Land, on the right side of the park, and sign your little one up. Be sure your child is with you, as they are required to be in attendance when you sign them up. Later in the day you will come back and your kiddo will be trained on stage to become a Jedi warrior. He or she will even be able to battle Darth Vader! As a huge Star Wars fan, my son was thrilled!

2. Visit Mickey’s Toon Town

Once you have signed up for Jedi training, then walk to the back of the park to begin your day at Mickey’s Toon Town. This is where you can visit Minnie’s house to receive an autograph, go on a roller coaster ride as a family, and enjoy the beautiful view of Toon Town. If you start here early, then you will have a much smaller crowd to manage.

3. Grab a Few Snacks

You are at Disneyland, indulge a little! We gave our children money to purchase their favorite treats. They were thrilled! We also brought our own snacks and water in our soft-sided cooler, as Disneyland allows you to bring your own food and drink into the park. Just be sure it is not glass.

4. Ride the famous Dumbo the Flying Elephant Ride

Honestly, we could not visit Disneyland without riding on Dumbo the Flying elephant. My kids had never even seen the movie, but my little 2-year-old LOVED it! So much so, that she asked to buy the Dumbo pillow pet as her souvenir. As a full time RV family, we limit how large our souvenirs are. However, we made an exception here.

5. Walk Through Sleeping Beauty’s Castle

My 5-year-old daughter especially loved walking through Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. She even brought her princess dress to change into for the walk. It felt a bit smaller than we expected inside the castle, yet still very magical.

6. Ride on the Mad Tea Party Ride.

My husband took the kids on the exciting spinning teacups ride. They loved it so much that they went on it 3 times! I on the other hand, do not do well with spinning rides. So, I enjoyed taking photos and standing with our stroller. The line moves quickly so do not be deterred. Hop in line and get ready for some fun!

7. Stay Late for the Fireworks

If your family is still energized and wide awake, then I suggest that you stay late for the fireworks. Bring some glow sticks, grab a few snacks, and enjoy Disneyland at night. It’s a different kind of magic.

There are so many fun and exciting things to do at Disneyland, California. Be sure to give yourself an entire day or more, and plan to arrive early and stay late. There is that much fun to be had.
