Splashaway Bay – New Waterpark on Independence of the Seas

Splashaway Bay – the new waterpark on board Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas is perfect for younger kids (and some older ones too!).  I have done a short video for you – but there are lots more photos below too.

Do have a look at my other posts reviewing all the new additions to Independence of the Seas, like my review of the Sky Pad and The Perfect Storm.

On the Lido deck a fab kids waterpark has been added. With slides, shallow pools, and drench buckets. I thought my two might have been a bit too old looking at the pictures before we went, but they were happy to spend hours in there.

There were two hot tubs next to the waterpark, for adult supervision sitting purposes! Lots of attentive lifeguards too, one of which recognised my son later the same day when he went to the kids club.

Next to Splashaway Bay you will find the self serve soft ice cream station which is unlimited and free.  I love the kids sun loungers and though that was a lovely touch.

On the other side of the Lido deck you will find more swimming pools, three hot tubs and a pool bar. It was where the people without kids tended to hang out.
