Sodastream Spirit Review – Eco-Friendly Fizzy Drinks!

I never had a Sodastream as a child but always wanted one.  More recently Mr Wonders has been talking about getting one for a more planet friendly reason based on how many fizzy water plastic bottles we have been recycling of late.  According to Sodastream each machine stops over 1,000 single-use plastic bottles from going into landfill every year.  I was very pleased with the look of the machine as I do think it looks rather sleek and stylish (and not at all as I remember them from my youth)

Sodastream Spirit Review

Every Sodastream machine comes with a gas canister so you can reuse and refill. Every canister makes up to 60L of sparkling water, and can be exchanged for a new one at SodaStream for £12.99 – and new canisters can be easily reordered online.

We were sent the Sodastream Spirit to test and review.  It’s extremely easy to use.  Once the gas canister is placed in the Sodastream, you simply push the bottle they provide up onto the machine, gently push the bottle upright and then hold down the button at the top and see the gas squirting in.  As you can imagine, the children find this quite thrilling!

The bottle can then be reused as many times as you would like.  You can either pour it into a glass as soon as you have made it fizzy or you can put the cap on the bottle and store in the fridge for later.  We like to drink the water as it is or add some squash to it.  There are all sorts of flavours you can buy to add to the water.  My absolute favourite way to use it is to make a Mojito (though I don’t share this with the kids!).

The Sodastream Spirit comes in black or white, and you can buy it from sodastream.co.uk for £89.99 (special offer).
