The Sandcastle Waterpark at Blackpool – Review

The Sandcastle Waterpark at Blackpool Review – The kids love a waterpark so when we were offered the chance to try out The Sandcastle in Blackpool we jumped at it. It’s on the South Pier, right opposite the Pleasure Beach.

It’s the largest indoor waterpark in the UK and has 18 slides! We spent most of our time going between the wave pool and the lazy river. The lazy river is quite shallow so better for little ones.

The slides include the Master Blaster, the world’s longest Indoor Roller Coaster waterslide, Aztec Falls and Sidewinder. For children there is also Treetops water chutes, the Caribbean Storm Treehouse and Fort Riptide.  There is also a large shallow area for toddlers with a pirate boat and kiddie slides.

All around The Sandcastle there is plenty of seating if you want to take some time out, or if you are a non swimmer wanting to relax with a book.  The lockers are operated with an electronic wristband which you pay a £2 fully refundable deposit for. You can put the £2 on your card if you forget cash, like I always do!  Oh, and just in case you haven’t had enough of the arcades while you are in Blackpool, there is a mini arcade in the lobby which my children immediately flocked to after our swim!

If you are peckish after your fun in The Sandcastle has a snack bar and cafe or there is a Wetherspoons across the road.  A couple of tram stops down will get you to The Wok Inn – a fabulous Asian Fusion restaurant we reviewed whilst there.

My children absolutely loved The Sandcastle – it gets quite busy in there, and the busiest in the middle of the day, so if you would prefer it a little quieter aim for early mornings or late afternoons.  The children did not care how busy or not it was and had a complete blast!

We were invited to visit and review The Sandcastle, but as always, all opinions expressed are my own.
