Pirates and Princesses at Burton Agnes Hall, East Yorkshire

Don’t miss Pirates and Princesses day at Burton Agnes Hall, it’s a fabulous day out for families.

We have visited for the last two years and it’s definitely a highlight of our summer days out. Everyone really gets into the spirit of the thing, dressing up in the appropriate costumes. There are usually a couple of bouncy castles as well as magic shows scheduled throughout the day.

There has been a princess makeover tent where face paint and make up are liberally applied along with copious amounts of glitter (anything sparkly is always going to be a hit with Miss H, not to mention the rest of our household!).

There is a great treasure trail so the kids can have fun exploring while finding the clues. You get to walk in the woods around lots of little paths. The trail often takes you into a walled garden that is beautifully planted. Go straight on to find giant lawn games, or left to find a hedgerow maze. It is a good maze so don’t let little ones go haring off in front. I have heard the plaintive cry of “Mummy, I am lost!”, knowing I am only 10 feet away but being unable to get to them!
