5 Best Family Hotels in London – Great for Kids!

5 Best Family Hotels London 2020 – We try and take the kids to London as often as we can.  It’s just two hours on the train from York, so does not take too long to get there, though I wish the train tickets were cheaper, as it does add up for the four of us!  There are so many things to do and see in London for all the family, you can never fit everything in just one trip!  I am compiling this list based on hotels we have stayed in as a family and those recommended to me by other families.  This post contains affiliate links, please see my disclosure page for more info.

St James’ Court, a Taj Hotel

Westminster, London

St James’ Court is right next door to the Taj, 51 Buckingham Gate (above).  We stayed recently in a one bedroom suite.  The sofa in the living room folded down to make a double bed for the kids to stay in, creating two adjoining rooms, ideal for families.  The children were welcomed in the hotel and enjoyed the little extra treats like fruit in the room, and petit fours.  They also enjoyed having a simply enormous tv in their room!  Great location, within a very short walking distance to Buckingham Palace, St James’ Park and various theatres.  We took the kids to see Wicked the Musical whilst staying here – it’s less than a ten minute walk away.

New Road Hotel London

Whitechapel, London

We stayed at the boutique New Road London last year for our Christmas weekend away and visited the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.  It’s not very central London but a very quick tube ride away.  We stayed in two adjoining rooms, they had their own private corridor.  It’s a very modern hotel, very clean and chic.  It has free tea and coffee machines, a games room and a Marco Pierre White restaurant.  Have a look at our review with lots of detailed room photos.
