Top 5 Counter Service Restaurants, Magic Kingdom

Are you looking for the best value from your counter service credits in Magic Kingdom on your Disney Dining Plan?  Or even just looking for a good recommendation of places to eat in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom?  Here are my top five, compiled after our recent trip to Orlando.

Columbia Harbor House

It’s very homely upstairs in the Columbia Harbor House, and we enjoyed a relaxed lunch their one day.  You can choose from Lobster Rolls, Shrimp Macaroni and Cheese, Chicken Pot Pie and if you can’t decide, you can go for the Land and Sea Trio (fried shrimp, chicken and fish).  Our children went for the Grilled Salmon:

Pinocchio Village Haus

We have always visited Pinocchio’s Village Haus in Magic Kingdom.  The pizza (Sausage and Pepperoni Flatbread) there is large and filling.  They also do a Caesar Salad with Chicken as well as a Chicken Parmesan Pasta.  This was my Caprese Flatbread:

Be Our Guest

Without doubt the best counter or quick service restaurant in Magic Kingdom is Be Our Guest.  Both Breakfast and Lunch are counter service on the Disney Dining Plan.  (Dinner is table service.)  We had a lovely late breakfast there and at $24 for their breakfasts such as the ‘Feast A La Gaston’ (Scrambled Eggs, Herb-Roasted Potatoes, Apple Smoked Bacon, and Sausage served with Fresh Fruit and a selection of pastries) it is a great use of a counter service credit.  Plus the ballroom is beautiful!  My Feast a La Gaston (excuse the terrible picture I didn’t have my proper camera and the light wasn’t great!)

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café

Old West inspired Mexican restaurant with a great selection such as a Fajita Platter, Taco Burger, Beef Nachos and a Southwest Salad with Spicy Beef.  What I thought was fabulous was their ‘Toppings Bar’, great for livening up lunch!

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café

Cosmic Ray’s was closed the last time we went and it’s a shame as I had heard such great things about it.  Dished such as Barbecued Pork Bacon Cheeseburger, Grilled Chicken Club, Quarter-pound  All-Beef Hot Dog and my favourite – Rotisserie Chicken.

  1. we’ve got a late breakfast booked for BOG when we go. I love Peco Bills as well but it’s just me that goes in as the rest of the family prefer the outpost around the corner for chicken nuggets.
