Ripley’s Believe it or Not, London – Fab and Funny!

While we were in London recently we reviewed Ripley’s Believe it or Not.

The mirror maze was a big smash with my family (smash, did you see what I did there? No? Ok, moving on…,). Anyway it was and they loved it. I have no decent pictures of the maze itself though as despite my pleading for them to stay still so I could take a picture with no flash, the little horrors were way too excited and flitted around like mischievous will o’ the wisps appearing and disappearing at will.

Willard Wigan

Another hit was the Willard Wigan microscopic art.  The children loved peering in to the microscopes and seeing the amazing sculptures on pin heads, then double checking in astonishment what they were actually looking at.

Black Hole

We have been in a black hole before at York Maze and think they are brilliant, but the one at Ripleys was excellent, and completely made the room spin.  The children charged across shrieking while I took my time savouring the dizziness.

Weird and Wonderful Exhibits

There are hundreds of weird and wonderful exhibits, that amazed and revolted us in turns.  I particularly liked this one (fortunately the children didn’t see it so I didn’t need to explain what it was).  I also loved the giant bouquet of flowers.

Things to make you chuckle

If asked I might have said it was a kebab skewer…!  Mind, I don’t think I will see a doner kebab in the same way now!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

There is a whole exhibit to accompany the film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. My children haven’t seen the film (I read the book, it was a bit scary!) But they enjoyed the exhibit anyway. We particularly enjoyed the disappearing legs table!

Interactive Exhibits

The thing that stands out at Ripley’s is how interactive it is.  There are so many activities for the children to participate in, it’s not a ‘hands off’ place and my children loved that.

Gift Shop

At the very end, as is the norm, there is a gift and sweet shop, so make sure they bring their own pocket money.  I came across these little gems and couldn’t resist a sneaky photo!  Seriously ‘liquid filled’??

Ripley’s Believe it or Not, London – Review

To sum up, Ripley’s Believe it or Not was a fun, exhilarating experience.  It was fairly quiet when we went (around 10am) and a lot of the time we had whole rooms to ourselves.  The children had a fab time, it was a perfect place to take them for some high-energy and immersive fun in central London.

Website and prices – Ripley’s London

Prices for the Ripley’s London start at £24 per adult and £18 per child but they do have offers on their website, so do take a look.  You can book Ripley’s tickets and a meal at either Bubba Gump’s or Planet Hollywood as a package too, which looks a really good offer to me.

Many thanks to Ripley’s London for inviting us to attend and review.

Not far from London, you will find Guildford in Surrey.  Here is a great round up of Things to do in Guildford.
