Pefko – Greek Taverna Restaurant in Stoupa, Greece

Pefko can be found at the end of Stoupa beach opposite Akrogiali. It’s laid out over various terraces with stunning seaviews. Ideal on an evening to watch the sunset before the vista fades into soft lilacs and greys as night falls.

The restaurant owner, Elias is well known in Stoupa and can usually be found waiting tables in the evening and generally exuding Greek bonhomie.

Visit the Open Kitchen

You are welcome to visit the open kitchen here to see what specials are being offered. I like to order the Stifado (a slow cooked beef and shallots casserole style dish with garlic and tomato).

Kleftiko

You should also try the Kleftiko – another slow cooked dish of lamb and potatoes cooked in olive oil and herbs and served wrapped in brown paper.

Mixed Grill at Pefko, Stoupa

Mr Wonders went for the mixed grille – a bit more expensive than other dishes at €15 but was a fine plateful of pork souvlaki, grilled lamb, pork steak, chicken fillet and a burger, served with chips.

At Pefko you are often served a complimentary liqueur at the end of your meal. It’s a bit like a shot of cough syrup, so down it in one! A lovely touch on our last visit was that they also brought similar looking shots for the children (of a non-alcoholic variety!). Master T reports that his tasted of chocolate and orange.

Kids’ Meals

The children ordered from the kids’ menu. Master T went for fish and chips while Miss H chose pizza and chips.

The meal came with a soft drink and ice cream for dessert.  When they brought the ice cream they each had sparklers in them which delighted the children.
